Our prophetic journey
In a search for prophetic truth, it is important to understand the prophetic
program of God in the earth. Here it is briefly: In the beginning God
created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. He made man in
his image and gave him dominion (management) of all creation
(ultimately). Man stumbled in that responsibility and creation went dark.
God temporarily took over management responsibility and began the
process of re-creation with man, this time, as his partner.
God eventually called Abraham as the father of many nations; father of
all the faithful. Through his son Jacob, God called out a nation, Israel, that
would receive the embodiment of knowledge and truth, the law, and
implement ‘God’s will on earth’, for a single nation.
In the fullness of time (2000 years later), God sent his Son as an
offspring of that nation. As their Messiah, Yeshua was born of a woman,
born under law, and would live as the model of a perfect human. Israel’s
rejection of their Messiah caused ‘greater Israel’ to be split into two
distinct eternal identities, two Israels, expressed as a heavenly and an
earthly people group. The earthly Israel was temporally set aside, and the
heavenly Israel (the messianic church) was commanded to ‘go make
disciples of all nations’ (the ingrafting of the gentiles).
On the day of Pentecost, a measure of the Holy Spirit was given to the
whole world to soften the human heart to make it more responsive to
salvation, and to empower the ‘childhood’ church toward maturity. And
once again, for 2000 years, God has given the heavenly group (the
messianic church) a season to grow and mature.
This gives us some perspective on humanities prophetic journey. In
the last 100+ years the pace has quickened. Truth has increased in the
church, and as promised, Israel was reborn, and is quickly being restored
to a leading place among the nations. Both groups, having had their ‘days’
in human history past, are now entering adulthood. This is the background
of the prophetic end-of-the-age. Like their Father in heaven, man has been
‘working’ (recreating) for 6 days (6000 years).
So, prophetically, what should come next? Let’s think about it. God
has a plan to restore creation, including man’s management of it. By
correctly observing the past, we see God has divided spiritual leadership
within mankind into two groups, representing heaven and earth.
Why has God done this? By understanding the essence of righteous
government, we see it must have two distinct functions—the ‘prophetic’
A Prophetic Message for 2020 …3
and ‘pastoral’. In NT terms, it is Prophet and Apostle. In civil government
terms, it is Legislative and Executive.
One is a ministry of truth, long-term strategy and correction, and the
other is a ministry concerned with people, relationships, and the needs of
today. We could apply these functions to our two people groups and say
the heavenly ministry is ‘prophetic’, and the earthly ministry ‘pastoral’.
The heavenly, macro-manages, understanding the flow of God’s purposes,
and the earthly ministry ‘pastors’ earthly people (all nations) with
liturgical leadership, instruction, and discipleship.
These two spiritual ministries, rightly separated and functioning,
provide sustainable government, whether in a church, a nation, a planet,
or in a universe. Rightly activating these two priesthoods, is currently
God’s goal in human history. The kingdom of God must be built upon
sustainable human government (Something Adam nor earthly Israel
provided). So, I ask again, what is the prophetic plan from here?
Someone trying to understand God’s program for the end-of-the-age
(Biblical Christian prophecy), must choose a ‘conclusion scenario’—how
the program will end (before the Second Coming). To describe traditional
Christianity’s ‘conclusion scenario’ we will use a term from C.S. Lewis’
book “Mere Christianity”. He uses the term ‘Mere’ as an ironic contrast to
the deeper meaning of his book—that while Christians appear as ‘mere
humans’, they are actually members of the divine family. I will interpret
‘mere’ as ‘sufficient but not more’. Traditional Christianity has a ‘mere’
ending for the church. It is glorified only after resurrection (this is an
error).
For 2000 years Christianity has been introducing the world to the
person of Jesus Christ as Savior. It has stressed elementary truths (Heb
6:1-2) such as repentance from sin, and through the cross, a personal
relationship with the Savior. This message has transformed the world.
During that time, the world has grown up, and it is now time for adult
truths.
In the Upper Room Discourse (John 14-17), Yeshua’s last sermon, his
Passover sermon, we get a verbal portrait of a corporate body that will one
day equal Yeshua’s stature in glory, function and service. It is not a
description of birth or childhood, it is a description of a body that has
reached adulthood, maturity and perfection. It is the portrait of a joint-
heir, a fitting mate, a bride without spot or wrinkle, taken from mankind,
4 · Toward a Glorified Church
but destined to express the divine to mankind (before and after
resurrection).
The truths found in these four chapters of John, then, and even now,
are difficult to comprehend. There is no precedent found in human history.
The words are familiar, but the message, taken in total, is not. The world,
including Christianity itself, is totally unprepared for such a powerful,
glorious body this side of heaven. A many-membered body, victorious,
set apart from the world, while yet in the world, able to impose the will
and purposes of God on earth. A body able to display and offer grace and
truth, to the whole world, the way Yeshua did to Israel. A greater work.
In that discourse, generally ignored as part of traditional Christian
prophecy, Yeshua promises truth, power, glory, and more, for his Body.
This is the ‘conclusion scenario’ for the Body. The missing element of
traditional Christian prophecy, is the full identity, and the role, of today’s
Body of Messiah, the adult `messianic church. To understand prophecy,
we have to be clear about the question, ‘Who is the messianic church?’ In
a very real sense, born-again salvation is ‘adoption’ onto a new creation,
literally, a new specie. Those ‘in Christ’ are no longer human (flesh and
blood) by identity, they actually become members of the divine family.
We must begin to think in these terms. Our writings here will focus
primarily on the Body’s work as a priesthood. Current events can best be
seen through the prism of two priesthoods. A heavenly priesthood (the
order of Melchizedek), and the earthly priesthood (the Levitical
priesthood). I will sum up the prophetic story of mankind in priesthood
terms; as the interaction of these two priesthoods:
The first time the two priesthoods had communion (Genesis 14:18),
the whole program of creation’s redemption began. Just recently,
when for the second time the two priesthoods had ‘communion’,
(2017/2018, Embassy) the whole program of creation’s restoration
began. It is time to tell that story.
A glorified church?
The subject of this ‘glorified church’ must be at the core of end-of-the-
age prophecy—the ‘conclusion scenario’. So, what is a glorified church?
What does it look like, and how does it happen? These are the biggest
questions of our day. But who do you know is asking them? Nevertheless,
A Prophetic Message for 2020 …5
that is the subject of this exercise. This idea is not foreign to Scripture.
Let’s review a few familiar Scriptures. From Paul:
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with
the glory that will be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18)
Romans chapter 8 is Paul’s prophetic pinnacle. In the verse above, he
is refining a message taken from the OT where he shares that we are the
instruments of God’s glory, ‘and all mankind together will see it’.
And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all mankind together
will see it. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken." (Isaiah 40:5)
That is not a trivial idea. It is central to the prophetic end-of-the-age.
If there is any doubt about the importance of this idea, Paul goes on in the
very next verse to make this astounding statement:
The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be
revealed. (Romans 8:19)
This ‘revealing’, as Paul informs us, is the single most important event
of the prophetic end-of-the-age. Why? Because these ‘sons’ are both
proof of the successful work of Messiah’s life and death, and as such, they
take on the Adam commission, commissioned as managers of the end-of-
the-age, bringing the rest of the world into compliance to God’s will.
Adamic restoration is dependent on these sons (priesthood). Therefore,
Paul notes, ‘all of creation is waiting for it!’ And yet, how does this event
rate in Christian prophecy? Look it up. It will not be mentioned at all, or
if mentioned, it will be misinterpreted. Notice that Paul does NOT say
that, ‘all of creation is waiting for the Second Coming’, or ‘the Rapture’.
His perspective is much more nuanced, unlike today’s Christian prophecy.
A ‘glorified church’ this side of resurrection, is virtually unknown to
Christian prophecy. Think about that for a minute.
Today’s Christian prophecy
What is today’s Christian prophecy all about? It is focused on the
Second Coming primarily. It’s about the final rebellion of man and the
war between God and Satan. It features events such as, the Great
Tribulation, the antichrist, the Rapture, 666, etc., and the chronology of
6 · Toward a Glorified Church
each event. Today’s Christian prophecy largely comes from the Book of
Daniel and Revelation.
Now tell me, what should have priority to the Body? The story of
mankind’s final rebellion, or the roadmap to mankind’s and creation’s
final restoration? The ‘mystery of lawlessness’, or the ‘mastery of
perfection’ (Christ-likeness). Adult prophecy emphasizes ‘human
transformation’ rather than tabulating a ‘chronology of prophetic events’.
It’s time to begin a new study
It is time to begin a new study. For those of faith, there is a strong
sense we are living in a unique time in world history (2020). Virtually
everyone is asking or seeking to understand it better. There is a general
expectation that these unusual and complex world events are not random
incidents driven by natural or human whims. But rather, they are part of
a predestined plan, sovereignly designed by God, and revealed in the pages
of Scripture.
There is meaning and significance to all this. In fact, arguably, we are
living in what may be the most significant age of human history. We are
living in a type of harvest, a harvest of the human disposition; a
conclusion. A time of restoration; promised by a loving God,
counteracting the effects of the Edenic ‘fall’ 6000 years ago.
For those who are wise, it is a day of eternal destiny; of blessing, and
reward. For the foolish and the passive, it may be anything but that. God
has given Christianity 2000 years to grow up; to prepare for this harvest.
But, along with great opportunity, there comes great responsibility.
It is sobering to read the account of Israel in Yeshua’s day. After 2000
years of development, Israel failed their test, as Yeshua declared —
‘because you did not know the time of your visitation’ (Luke 19:44). We
should take that to heart. Peter, also, seems to predict there will be a
Christian ‘day of visitation’ as well. (1Peter 2:12).
Understanding Biblical prophecy is not just a side curiosity, or a tool
for evangelism. Prophecy is the map that defines reality in today’s
confusing world. As sons of God, we are called to resolve and manage the
transformation of earth, ‘preparing the way of the Lord’. We are not
observers, we are management!
However, prophecy is uniquely difficult to understand. It is an enigma,
a mystery, designed to reveal not just events, but the intents and attitudes
of the heart. Ultimately, it is for spiritual adults.
A Prophetic Message for 2020 …7
This is precisely why we must not settle for the current state of
Christian prophecy. Christian prophecy today, is about the events of the
Second Coming. It has utterly failed to see and define the real essence of
the end-of-the-age, a harvest of three identities (people groups), including
the glorifying of the sons of God. It has nothing specific to say about
something as world changing as today’s coronavirus (COVID-19).
We must call for a new look at prophecy. Our ‘experts’ must commit
to a new conclave of truth-seeking. A time of humbly reexamining a full
range of prophetic issues not adequately addressed in our current
Daniel/Revelation models.
Further reading, PROPHETIC REFORMATION
My search for prophetic truth has been a life-long effort. Nearly ten
years ago I began the work of assembling my findings into some
systematic whole. It has resulted in a book, PROPHETIC
REFORMATION, published on Amazon in 2019.
This book offers the first look at a radically new ‘victory’ prophetic
model. A new prophetic story of the end-of-the-age built on the patterns
of Torah rather than the Book of Revelation. A model expressly revealing
the ‘greater works’ of the sons, rather than the ‘evil works’ of the enemy
(the basis of virtually all Christian prophecy today). The foundation of
this model is drawn from the two ‘greater works commissions’ coming
from Yeshua and Paul’s primary prophecy chapters, Matthew 24 and
Romans 8.
Since that book was published, specific prophetic events, consistent
with the book, have transpired. In order to deal with those events, I have
written two smaller supplements to that prophetic story. One is this
introduction, and before this, a more in-depth booklet named, ‘A Prophetic
Message for 2020/5780’.
The Booklet - A Prophetic Message for 2020/5780
That booklet extends that model into the current 2020 crisis directly. It
makes the astounding claim that two years ago, with the act of President
Trump recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and moving the US
Embassy there, the ‘sons of God’ were ‘revealed’ (in spirit) fulfilling
Romans 8:19: The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God
to be revealed. (This act was effectively the two priesthoods
‘communing’, mentioned earlier)
8 · Toward a Glorified Church
This act of worship in spirit by the sons, triggered a new prophetic
dispensation. It initiated a new commission, assigned to us by Yeshua in
Mathew 24:14, to preach the gospel-of-the-kingdom (not the gospel of
salvation) to all nations (before ‘the end’).
This testimony—begins an ‘Exodus’ like process that will transform
both Christianity and the world through a number of complex,
supernatural, events. It eventually includes the ending of the current
world-order, being replaced with a new-world-governmental-order
imposed by the sons of God.
Today, those sons, while divinely led ‘in spirit’, are grossly lacking in
prophetic details, ‘in truth’. They have been invested with a major new
responsibility as ‘prophet to the world’ (Elijah), but are effectively
uncertain as to a specific course of action. In that failure, one can see
evidence of a Jonah pattern.
The world’s current ‘storms’ are likely a product of Christianity’s
failure to perceive the truth behind that critical Jerusalem event and their
investiture of a new priestly role. By it, Christianity’s primary mandate
has transitioned from the Great Commission to the Kingdom Commission,
from an emphasis on ‘eternal life’ to an emphasis on ‘God’s will on earth’.
Unfortunately, the sons, the active agency of that mandate, remain largely
ignorant of this new commission.
One can see that only an internal Conclave of Elders can deal with an
issue like this. It is complex and likely controversial. If one took their
prophecy from Yeshua and Paul, one would get the idea that creation is
waiting for ‘adult sons’ to take over its management. If this is true, we are
in serious trouble. Our teachers know little of this prophetic reality of
‘restoration’ and ‘greater works’. Today’s prophecy does not anticipate
adult sons conformed to the likeness of the Son, Yeshua (while yet in flesh
and blood bodies, before resurrection).
One of the promises of Yeshua, in this age, is all-truth (John 16:13)
Managing the end-of-the-age is the ultimate evidence of that level of truth.
The Spirit has been working in many different ways over time. Yet,
today’s pastoral leaders must own up to the fact that they are not
reproducing adult sons. Christianity cannot explain how the kingdom
realistically comes to earth, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10) other than to say “Jesus will do it”. It
cannot explain how the sons become like Christ. God is giving the church
a wakeup call.
A Prophetic Message for 2020 …9
America’s Prophetic Mandate
This is what is behind the current crisis in America and the world. Do
we believe that the whole creation has been eagerly waiting for this
prophetic moment? This may sound farfetched to many, but could we
really be living in those times? I believe a Biblical case can be made for
that claim. Again, the need for a Conclave of Elders.
And as for America’s problem, it is no coincidence that monolithic
America has reached the ‘end of its prophetic mandate’. Today, there are
two sons within her—a son of light, and a son of darkness. The parable of
the Wheat and Tares (Matthew 13:24) while generally given to the world,
may specifically be meant for America. The context is ‘good seed’ sown
into a ‘field’, certainly the context of early America.
But while ‘men slept’, the enemy came and sowed ‘bad seed’. Again,
certainly a description of the last 100+ years of America. The servants
question, ‘Shall we go and pluck out the bad seed?’ ‘No’, says the master.
America is, by design, a pluralistic society (unlike Israel). Enforcing strict
‘orthodoxy’ in a democratic republic would damage it, as the master notes.
Rather, ‘Let both grow together until the harvest’, the master instructs.
Repentance alone, cannot solve a problem like this, only division can.
We must prepare for the prophetic solution, ‘the harvest’. America must
be divided and then the sons of light (the true America), prophetically
reformed. This is our current challenge. Today’s monolithic America
can’t be revived. Those that hear the revival call, will come out, and be
reformed. (Notice that this Wheat and Tares parable was given to the
‘crowd’, but only interpreted/explained later to the ‘disciples’)
To sort this out, Christians in America must call for a Conclave of
Elders, initiating a long discussion and study. By ‘long’ here I am being
optimistic. We have an election in less than three months (November,
2020) which I believe will accelerate this whole process, not to mention
the ongoing crisis in the world (which may be our fault).
The 400 years prophecy
There seems to be a unique and intentional similarity between America
and Israel. Even the notable thinker Rabbi Daniel Lappin has expressed
such a connection, and Rabbi Jonathan Chan has made this same point in
some of his videos. I have recently noticed a fascinating Scripture that is
10 · Toward a Glorified Church
spoken as a prophecy for Israel, but which may also have a dual
application to America’s circumstances as well.
13 Then the LORD said to him [Abraham], "Know for certain that
for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a
country not their own and that they will be enslaved and
mistreated there.
14 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward
they will come out with great possessions. (Gen 15:13, 14 NIV)
How could this possibly relate to America? In my Prophetic Message
for 2020 (page 27) I write this.
In America’s first governing document (in 1620, exactly 400 years
ago in 2020) the founders of Plymouth Colony stated their venture
was for the ‘Advancement of the Christian Faith'. Above all else,
this was the continuing sentiment of America’s founders.
It has been exactly 400 years since this covenant was made. For most
of that time, Christianity has had a position of honor. Remember how
Israel went to Egypt when Joseph was Egypt’s governor (and savior).
Because of Joseph, Israel was honored with special status, given the best
of the land, etc. With great favor (and later persecution), they prospered.
But then, a long time later: ‘Now there arose a Pharaoh who did not know
Joseph’ (Exodus 1:8). The favor is over, there is a clear break from the
past. For Israel, a new age begins, and with it, the seeds of persecution.
Have we seen a similar break from America’s past, recently? Again,
in my Prophetic Message for 2020 (page 27) I write this.
In 2008, five days before the election, Barack Obama promised,
“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the
United States of America.” And so, the American people elected a
man who had no love or connection to America’s past.
Doesn’t this explain what is happening in America today, including a
manic need to destroy and rewrite our history? But what about the
‘strangers in a country not their own’? Christians have assumed America
A Prophetic Message for 2020 …11
was effectively their ‘Promised Land’. But think prophetically for a
moment. Those ‘in Christ’ are citizens of heaven (Philippians 3:20). We
are ‘in the world, but not of the world’ (John 15:16). We have no material
inheritance, as Yeshua says in Matthew 25:21 (the talents), ‘Come and
share your master’s happiness!’ True Christianity has no material
‘Promised Land’ here on earth.
The gospel-of-the-kingdom, as I share in my booklet, Prophetic
Message for 2020, includes the admonition to ‘[go] into the desert and
prepare the way of the Lord’ (Isaiah 40:3). Effectively, it is time to ‘leave
the world’. This is not a popular ‘pastoral’ message, but we are truly
strangers in our own land; increasingly literally. This is the prophetic
reality of where we have to go. Can we see this happening in America?
Aren’t current events in America causing Christians to wonder: “are we
truly ‘strangers in a country not their own’ “.
And that brings us to ‘enslaved and mistreated there’. It is completely
within the realm of possibility that Conservatives will lose the election in
Nov, 2020. In a sane and common-sense world that couldn’t happen. But
I believe we have entered the state of Romans 1. What is happening in
America is not normal, not rational, and worse. America has had the truth.
We began with ‘good seed’. But we have allowed the enemy to plant ideas
that have produced a ‘people who suppress the truth by their wickedness’
(Romans 1:18).
As the long slide to truthlessness continues, God promises three time
to ‘give them over’ to “futile thinking, sinful desires, and depraved minds.”
“Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools” (1:21). To make
his argument here in Romans 1, Paul uses the ultimate self-evident truth—
male and female.
Any society that approves ‘sexual confusion and perversion’ will
surely be consumed by Paul’s cycle of doom. I believe that is now official.
Our Supreme Court, June 15, 2020, (Argued October 8, 2019) ruled to
affirm sexual truthlessness as part of American law.
Another Exodus
If Conservatives lose the Presidency, the Senate, and the House,
persecution will come fast and furious. Probably within months
Christianity will effectively be criminalized. The stage will be set for the
prophetic events of my book (PROPHETIC REFORMATION) which
12 · Toward a Glorified Church
depicts the end-of-the-age as a realistic repeat of the Biblical Exodus in
today’s world.
Yeshua and Paul’s prophetic model’s (from Matthew 24 and Romans
8) are both effectively a replay of the journey from Egypt into the
Promised Land (50+ years). Persecution is the spark that begins the
‘Exodus’. The ‘Exodus’ is God’s solution to a field of ‘wheat and tares’
(Let both grow together until the harvest (v.30)). Persecution leads to a
pre ‘Exodus’ testimony (the gospel-of-the-kingdom with 10 plagues), a
major ‘revealing of the sons’ (death of the firstborn), and a ‘going into the
wilderness’.
Prophetically, this is where true Christian America needs to go. Is this
worthy of a serious conversation? I would hope so. This is why I am
calling for a Conclave of Elders. There are clearly two Americas within
monolithic America today. This precludes the idea of revival as a nation.
We have become ‘strangers in a country not our own’, but there is a
glorious higher purpose for all this. In fact, all of creation has been waiting
for this moment. God’s people have always been ‘strangers’ in this earth.
Today, more than ever, God needs ‘strangers’ to finish his prophetic
program. Let’s discuss it.
All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did
not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed
them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and
strangers on earth. (Hebrews 11:13)
Current Christian prophecy, largely based on Revelation, has not, and
cannot explain what is happening in America, or our world today. That is
because it is largely dealing with the END of a generation long, end-of-
the-age (think: the fourth quarter of the football game). That is all it knows.
But there is a prophetic story of glory and victory that has not been told. It
begins with the ‘revealing of sons of God’, and has already begun, ‘in
Spirit’ (the first quarter).
